After Blazes

40 x 30 cms (16 x 12 inches)
"I did this painting from a live model and chose the title to reflect Molly Bloom, who was having an extra marital affair with the impresario Blazes Boylan, in James Joyce's novel Ulysses. She is resting following the departure of her lover after their afternoon tryst. Leopold Bloom, her husband, was aware that there was more to the relationship than simply the musical which was what Boylan was meant to be getting up to, but he chooses to turn a blind eye to the fact that he was cuckolded.
