Raiders Of The Lost ArchivesHello there, For the past, well six months nearly, tuppenceworth.ie has been undergoing a something of a technical breakdown. We haven't vanished off the face of the earth but nor have we steamed ahead as intended in the bright new dawn of the year. As a conglomerate of unpaid writers, artists, photographers and readers the site is inclined to bursts of activity, followed by lulls as the contributors are inspired, or have to devote their time to other things that pay bills, feed children and result in qualifications that they haven't bought off the internet. However, recently, the delays have been less organic and more editorial- I'm afraid that with the hobbling of the technical side of things, I fell away from keeping up to date with contributions. And more importantly, with contributors. So, it is only now that readers are able to see the photographs to go with Garreth Byrne's eyewitness report of the world's largest kite flying festival. And as they feature some of the world's largest kites, they are worth looking over. And Mattie Lennon's backlog of submissions begins it long night's journey into day with a suitably transport related topic- how to convert your car into one powered by vegetable oil- beating the taxman and helping the environment in one swoop. In the next few weeks expect to see some more new, as well as some familiar, names telling their stories. The blog will continue to turn out its mixture of comment and chivvying of public servants, from me at any rate. Expect also to see a few posts about Digital Rights Ireland, a new group some of Tuppenceworth's contributors are entangled with. by
