Warnings in October."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Over at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.windsandbreezes.org\/?p=501\">Winds and Breezes <\/a>Treasa noticed something odd about the government&#8217;s readiness for predicted floods;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\nI see from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.breakingnews.ie\/2006\/09\/05\/story275428.html\">breakingnews that we could be facing the worst flooding in 25 years<\/a> this weekend. I unfortunately shall be nowhere near the coast to see the unusual high tides, but that\u2019s irrelevant at this junction.<\/p>\n<p>    Mr Roche advised people to follow guidelines on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flooding.ie\">www.flooding.ie<\/a> website run by the Office of Public Works, the state\u2019s lead agency on flooding.<\/p>\n<p>So I went and had a look at said website and happened on the page regarding Risk of flooding because I figured it would be interesting to see if I or my property were at risk of flooding. Unlikely, but all the same\u2026<\/p>\n<p>    From the middle of 2006 information in relation to areas of the country that may be prone to flooding will be available on the Office of Public Works website. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.floodhazardmapping.ie\">www.floodhazardmapping.ie<\/a> which can also be accessed via the main OPW website www.opw.ie<\/p>\n<p>I have a problem. I can\u2019t open floodhazardmapping.ie because I get a 403 forbidden back from it. And I can\u2019t find that map on opw.ie either.<\/p>\n<p>Has anyone else tried?\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Well, I always like asking the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tuppenceworth.ie\/blog\/?s=opw&#038;submit=GO\">OPW questions<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Here was the meat of their explanation.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The site has not yet gone live as we are currently carrying out some enhancements that have become possible due to a recent development in relation to the mapping products underlying the system.
