Condemned to a bus journey the other day without either reading material or MP3 player, I amused myself by making a mental list of stuff I'm fed up of:Channel Four pseudo-medical Documentaries with titles like "The Boy Who Digested Himself"The support group weblink at the end doesn't stop them from being Victorian-style freak shows.
Michael McDowell is intending to bring in a new Libel law, in tandem with a new Privacy Bill. This bill is intended to protect the privacy of famous and/or powerful people. It does not seem that it will protect ordinary people's privacy against intrusions by powerful people.
A comment box discussion here got me thinking today about the phenomenon of “watch??? blogs, set up expressly to have a go at other blogs. I’m only aware of a few of them, (most obviously FI Fie Foe Fum, devoted to picking over the works of the Freedom Institute, and to which I contribute) but there’s a good chance that there are thousands of them out there.
A slight cold which I picked up while gallivanting on a rugby weekend in Paris has left me at home recuperating, primarily by way of watching the Winter Olympics and Buffy re-runs, while eating airport-bought Fois Gras and Chocolate. Ah, the decadence.

The sleepy days between Christmas and New Year are traditionally a time to release news you don’t want anyone to ask questions about. This year two stories found their way into the public domain which, now that we’re all trying to shake off the coma of Roses and tinsel, deserve a closer look.
With Court finishing up on Thursday for one of it's periodic holidays, I'm at something of a loose end for a couple of weeks. Unlike some of my colleagues, I won't be going on the Bar Soccer Club trip to Valencia (that's Valencia with a "c". Think Spain, not Kerry).
I think we can all agree that something has gone wrong recently. Something in the air isn't quite right. Locally, everything seems the same.
