Do you know, in the five years that Tuppenceworth has been running, I never once thought of a meet-up?So, I suggest I remedy this error. What say people (in comments, for preference, but email will be ok too) to a meeting next Friday the 20th at 8ish?. I'll suggest the Library Bar in the Central Hotel in Wicklow St in Dublin, but it might be packed.
Now, this is an experiment. I've got a few scripts I wrote years ago stashed away in the computer here. And a few days ago TCAL reminded me that some of them might be good.
I've written before on the topic of online libel, so my interest was piqued by word of mass suspensions from private girls' school Alexandra College for online bullying. I noticed a new blog appear on Planet of the Blogs today- Liz McManus, the Deputy Leader of the Labour Party. She's clearly writing it herself. I'm in favour of Ms McManus, as she appeared to wish my Grandmother a happy birthday a few years ago at her house party.

Well, that was an exciting day. By noon, it looked like I'd be speaking on behalf of Digital Rights Ireland on UCD FM. By 4ish that has switched to appearing with Dick Doyle, CEO of IRMA, on the Last Word on Today FM, discussing IRMA's announcement of new legal action against uploaders.
After a mere three month hiatus, the editor now has broadband again. Those stories I published here, as I couldn't meaningfully access the main tuppenceworth site will be republished over there. In addition, there are a significant number of people who sent me items which I will be responding to in the coming week- or next weekend at any rate.
I have spent a year teaching English in a middle school in the city of Weifang in Shandong Province in China. Weifang is one of many thriving industrial cities in East China. With sophisticated motorways, department stores, luxury hotels and a diverse manufacturing base Weifang tries to brand itself as a place for indigenous entrepreneurs and foreign investors.
I received this earlier in the week, but haven't been able to put it up on the site proper. However, as the Rossport 5 walked out of the Four Courts today (though not by the front door) I thought I'd make the effort and post it here. I'll move it to tuppenceworth.
