It being poor form to expect him to blow his own trumpet, it falls to me to congratulate fellow tuppenceworthy Simon McGarr on his Special Recognition Award at last night's Irish Blog Awards. The gong was a well-deserved recognition of his many efforts in and on behalf of the 'sphere. His wife, I have no doubt, will be grateful of the champagne.
There were some things I forgot to say in the last post and some new ideas. Firstly, I think I may have misadvertised this podcast- I think it ought to be be thought of as the Art Podcast. I think there might be other streams- I can see a place for a poetry podcast, or one from Fluffy Dutton.
Mostly, you post something and unless its a particular bugbear, you just glide off onto other things and forget all about it. However, the rest of the world sometimes likes to hang about in what you might consider your sleepy backwaters.
Now, I don't know about you, but I don't know anything the young folk are up to. They could be planning a total overthrow of the over 30s, and the first I'd hear of it would be the rat-a-tat of ageist gunfire raking the doorway of Renards. Or, in my case, my local library.
