I spoke to the EO I've been dealing with in the OPW today. He confirmed that no decision had been made regarding the proposed changes to the portico of the Four Courts, including installing railings across the entrance to close them off. This is contrary to the maps issued by the Courts Service recently in relation to changes in the security arrangements at the Four Courts.
I really oughtn't have to chase what has happened to the objection lodged back in June like this. I'll be sending this tomorrow. Principal OfficerProperty Maintenance DivisionOPW 51 St Stephen’s GreenDublin 2Re: Objection lodged to the proposed alterations to the portico of the Four Courts Your Ref: A473/66/6Dear Sirs,I write regarding the above.
I called the Property Maintenance Division of the OPW again today. They confirmed that the HEO in that section would call me back today on my mobile in answer to my question regarding the status of the objection to the changes to the Portico.
I received a registered letter yesterday from the OPW dated 24 June 2005 as follows. Ref: A473/66/6Re: Four Courts:- Objection to Part 9 Planning ConsultationDear Mr McGarrI acknowledge receipt of your letter with regard to the above and I herewith return your payment of twenty euro as there is no obligatory charge in such instances.
I had an odd conversation with the OPW on the phone this week when I rang them up to check that the objection had reached its intended destination.
Over at Winds and Breezes Treasa noticed something odd about the government's readiness for predicted floods;I see from breakingnews that we could be facing the worst flooding in 25 years this weekend. I unfortunately shall be nowhere near the coast to see the unusual high tides, but that’s irrelevant at this junction. Mr Roche advised people to follow guidelines on the www.
The Customs House Portico Originally uploaded by Editor_Tupp. The OPW cite the Customs House Portico railings as the example of what they are trying to do to the Front Portico of the Four Courts. I thought I'd show readers what that Customs House portico looks like.
See here and here for the story so farReceived today:Dear Mr McGarrI write to you and your co-signatories further to Mr X's letter to you dated the 24th November 2005. I wish to advise that pursuant to Part 9 of S. I.
